A patch of hitorishizuka (Chloranthus quadrifolius) along the mountain path. This is fairly common in the forests of Japan, but always delightful to meet.

Echinocereus chloranthus, or New Mexico Rainbow Cactus. This is at the Soledad Canyon Day Use area in the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument in New Mexico, USA.
This is a columnar cactus that grows in clusters. The short, numerous spines are either white or red, forming alternating bands of subtle color. The accepted scientific name is Accepted Scientific Name: Echinocereus viridiflorus subs. chloranthus (Engelm.)

A cluster of dark pink perennial Sweet Pea blossoms. Rusty orange and yellow pea blossoms above sparse pea foliage, native to Turkey. Salmon Flowered Crown Pea, once favored culinary pea, now hard to find. Pretty Salmon and white blossoms, bushy form. Most plants I've grown exhibited fasciated foliage to some degree. Yellow, almost chartruese pea blossoms above dark green foliage.

The seed pods are Zephyranthes longifolia (Zephyr lily) and the cactus is Echinocereus chloranthus (New Mexico Rainbow Cactus).
