The phyllosilicates closely match those on Ceres and the most altered carbonaceous chondrites that fall to Earth.

Same chemical “processing,” billions of kilometres away.

The daytime fireball that lit up New York City's sky on 16 July 2024 contains unique clasts rich in water and sodium, offering rare evidence for the formation of brines in CM chondrites.

A chondrite meteorite. The little circles are chondrules, rock vapor condensate grains - like space ooids; the oldest objects in our solar system. Chondrites are cosmic dust bunnies, as the chondrules glommed onto each other via static cling.

Size Constraints for the Pre-atmospheric Parent Bodies of Ordinary Chondrites
The study of S-complex near-Earth objects (NEOs), the parent bodies of ordinary chondrites, has shown that they are dominated by asteroids with LL chondrite-like compositions. This is surprising becau...

This is a reminder that asteroids & meteorites are not for eating.

And, since people do ask:

Nickel-irons taste like rust.
Ordinary chondrites taste like nothing.
Carbonaceous chondrites would taste like tar with notes of sulfur & mercury.

(For other rocks, see @mikamckinnon.bsky.social )

Do not bake the carbonaceous chondrites.

They will stink of tar, cyanide, mercury, and arsenic.
Tsirvoulis' slide on procedure says,
"CI asteorid simulant.
Mix according to recipe."

Suddenly I'm seeing an asteroid baking show

This is an interesting find - if enstatite chondrites (a rare type of meteorite closely associated with the building blocks of the Earth) contain as much hydrogen as claimed here, this might naturally explain Earth's water budget - without resorting to "stochastic" impacts of water-rich asteroids.

Researchers say they've uncovered evidence that early Earth was home to more hydrogen than previously thought, calling into question widely held beliefs about the origins of water and the evolution of our planet.

I have had people ask me what meteorites would taste like.

Nickel-irons would taste like nothing or like rust.
Ordinary chondrites would taste like cement.
Carbonaceous chondrites would taste like tar, with notes of arsenic and mercury.

Hence "please do not try to eat the meteorites".

Carbonaceous Chondrites Provide Evidence For Late-stage Planetesimal Formation In A Pressure Bump - Astrobiology

Chondrites are also an excellent check to see if Space Enthusiasts have any knowledge of basic geology and the economics mining.
