Choshinsei Flashman, very good series so far
Choshinsei Flashman
Arguably the best sentai so far, easily top 3 for me
The suits are really cool, the robot is nice, but most importantly the themes of family, home, and rejection are compelling
I would've liked an even sadder ending but what we've got is good

The robotic Laboh Fighters from the Super Sentai series Choshinsei Flashman (1986-1987), themselves obvious homages to The Martian War Machines from H.G. Well's The War of the Worlds. #kaiju #giantrobots #tokusatsu #mecha #robots #tripods #waroftheworlds

Finally got my special editions of 超新星 & they came with special folders & postcards, which were either a surprise or which I didn't notice in the description. For some reason this made me laugh & also go misty-eyed.
What shall I put in the folders? Some of my kanji artwork, maybe.

One maybe overlooked challenge of mastering a language without living day-to-day in its culture is the astounding quantity of vocabulary that exists.
20 years ago, I looked up supernova in Japanese. I've always remembered it: "chōshinsei".
Today, 20 years later, I heard that word for the first time.
