Elaine Forbes, the newly appointed city manager of Sausalito, was arrested on suspicion of burglary while on a leave of absence just weeks into her job. Authorities found her inside a yacht that did not belong to her, leading to her arrest on $50,000 bail. The city announced the arrest as a 'difficult development' for staff and the community, emphasizing they would not comment on specific allegations. Forbes' family stated she was experiencing a mental health crisis and requested compassion during this challenging time. The arrest followed a city council meeting where her performance was discussed privately, and a leave of absence was approved. Forbes, 53, had previously served as director of the San Francisco Port and faced challenges like seawall upgrades and Fisherman’s Wharf redevelopment. Dazu lädt die vergrößerte Fläche zum Verweilen ein. "Die Wege sind breiter und die Fläche ist entzerrt", so Groß.
