“Bacchus on my Back Porch/Rosé no. 2”, 16X20”, Oil on Linen

I’ve finished my third oil painting and I’m so pleased to share it with you all! I’m in love with this medium and can’t wait to work on more.

A framed figurative oil painting depicting a nude adult Bacchus seen from behind, standing on a terrace overlooking a lush vineyard landscape. The figure’s weight rests on one leg, emphasizing the curve of the hips, thighs, and calves, with the spine subtly twisting as he looks back over his shoulder. He holds a stemmed glass in one hand, suggesting wine, while grapevines and greenery weave through the foreground and middle distance. The genitals are not visible from this angle, but the full nudity is evident through the naturalistic rendering of the body’s form and posture. Brushwork is expressive and painterly, balancing warm flesh tones against cool greens and blues, creating a mood of leisure, sensual calm, and contemplative stillness.
