Cliffwalkers was so good. Snowy manchuria spycraft movie from Zhang Yimou--one of the more riveting spy movies I've seen in a minute.

Zhang Yimou’s new film #CliffWalkers, a Chinese spy film set in the 1930s, is a beautifully crafted but narratively dense story that requires a viewer’s utmost attention. In theaters. @SeattleCritics #SFCS https://shouldisee.it/reviews/2021/cliff-walkers-2021

Zhang Yimou has always straddled the party line in his filmography, but it's more pronounced/intrusive in recent years, what I've seen in Cliffwalkers & heard with Snipers. Must catch the latter to break through my block so I can then move onto Full River Red, which I *hope* is "one for him."
