Friendly reminder:

We still don't know how fast sea level is going to rise, but our previous estimates have been far too cautious, thus- wrong.

New work says we may be seeing climate-induced sea level rise earlier, or more, than expected.
"We were expecting to get into this shear, but we never did," The bottom of the ice was moving just as fast as the top, because it was sliding on mud. If this finding holds up and is true of other ice streams, it suggests streams are pushing more ice into the ocean and flow could readily speed up.

And the thing is, @billgates.bsky.social for all his money and power CANNOT REFUTE that first sentence.

I dare you Bill. Refute it. You can't. And you know it.

The Trump administration killed Climate.gov. A new website is resurrecting it.
Climate.us, spearheaded by three former NOAA staffers (two of whom are sisters), is picking up where the government site left off.

I had to look into why the price of tomatoes has increased so much.

The answer, in brief, is a shortage of supply due to unseasonal weather. In other words, #climatechange.

If you believe #clmatechange isn't affecting affordability, you are seriously mistaken.

Many insects are becoming less abundant in Canada and around the world, with consequences for birds, bats, fish, plants and people.

The loss of insects is already being felt by other species.

I understand there are protests in the UK demanding that either the US or NATO give the #Ukraine #nuclearweapons. It would be the 1st time in nearly 80 years such weapons have been used in #war. Even a "limited engagement" would result in years of #nuclearwinter. You thought #clmatechange was bad.

The Entire IPCC Report in 19 Illustrated Haiku - Sightline Institute
Reports released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) can be daunting, even for science and policy insiders. The full Physical Science Assessment, the first installment of the Fifth Assessment Report (pdf), released in manuscript form earlier this year, is over 2,000 pages long. And even the Summary for Policymakers, rather optimistically referred to as a “brochure,” is a dense 27 pages. What if we could communicate the essence of this important information in plain language and pictures? Well, that’s just what one Northwest oceanographer has done. He’s distilled the entire report into 19 illustrated haiku. The result is stunning, sobering, and brilliant. It's poetry. It’s a work of art. But it doubles as clear, concise, powerful talking points and a compelling visual guide.
