Bird find of the day was this drake Eurasian Wigeon x American Wigeon hybrid on the River Clyde off Bowling Harbour, Dunbartonshire this morning. You can just make out the green patch that runs from the eye to the nape.

Bird find of the day was this drake Eurasian Wigeon x American Wigeon hybrid on the River Clyde off Bowling Harbour, Dunbartonshire this morning. You can just make out the green patch that runs from the eye to the nape.

Signs of winter at Strathclyde Loch today with 3 Scaup (1 male & 2 Females), 4 Male Goosander and 5 Goldeneye. Plus a juvenile Great Crested Grebe. Large flock of 100+ Redwing nearby too.

Jack snipe this afternoon was my 129th species of bird on my Lochwinnoch patch in 2026. Not much at first light on the patch, but had great view of peregrine in Greenock. Headed back in afternoon and found a Jack snipe on scrape and had good views of Slav on Aird Meadow #clydebirding

Jack snipe this afternoon was my 129th species of bird on my Lochwinnoch patch in 2026. Not much at first light on the patch, but had great view of peregrine in Greenock. Headed back in afternoon and found a Jack snipe on scrape and had good views of Slav on Aird Meadow #clydebirding

Great morning birding my Lochwinnoch patch with Garganey briefly before flying off towards Calder marsh. I think probably a juvenile male rather than eclipse male but happy for views). Little stint, green sandpiper was patch year tick 126 reaching my 2026 target! #clydebirding #birdingscotland
