a Comanche and Apache man murdered by his neighbor on historic Coahuiltecan/Comanche/Apache/Tonkawa land (depending on time period) while protecting a husband who he previously described as “two spirited”

there is no way for hate to hurt just one group, because nobody has just one identity…
and it gets worse.

jonathan joss (john redcorn) was murdered in a hate crime at the site of their burned down home (from a suspected hate crime) while saving his husband's life.

Here is where the nomadic Coahuiltecan Indians roamed against the winds. Where the winds once caused ships of a scattered Spanish armada to wreck off the coast on Padre Island. Where Spanish colonists once named the area after the lake they called Laguna Del Como Se Llama,or “What’s-It-Called Lake.”

Don’t let pictures deceive you. Indigenous isn’t a skin color.

I am indigenous. I am a Coahuiltecan tejana and Jewish.

The Caddo, Karankawa, Coahuiltecan, Apache, and Comanche before Spain's occupation of Texas in 1519.
The name "Texas" originates from a Caddo word, "táysha," meaning "friends" or "allies.". Spanish explorers adopted this term, spelling it "Tejas".

I find it sad looking thru genealogy stuff that there is always info about all the men in the family and next to nothing about the women. This is especially evident when looking into my indigenous roots in northern Mexico. I am almost certain they came from my women ancestors #coahuiltecan

In San Marcos, where many Coahuiltecan descendants reside, the bluebonnet’s distinct hue is a reminder of their ancestors’ path to find water in a time of drought as they discovered an everlasting spring.

I live on Coahuiltecan land…the original habitants of Austin. Comanche, Lipan Apache and Tonkawa were also prevalent throughout the area.

And San Antonio, the city where the ignorant racist was commenting on existed pre colonially as
"Yanaguana or “Land of the Spirit Waters”, now known as San Antonio, and the ancestral homeland to the Payaya, a band that belongs to the Tāp Pīlam Coahuiltecan Nation. We are Mestizos, not hispanic.

According to my DNA profile, 30% of my genetics are from the Coahuiltecan, native to what is now southern Texas and northern Mexico. This 8K year old site five miles from my house could have been where my great x50 grandparents shared food.

The beauty and healing power of peyote is a fundamental part of a Coahuiltecan tradition. The same bureaucracy that keeps it legal for Native Americans to consume — medicinally and during ceremonies — also regulates their sacrament.
