At the very least this is a solid signal that they're up to no good

Pundits worry about "what if" the Musk-Trump Administration starts ignoring court decisions.

We are already there. But b/c it's trans women, it's barely noticed by news media as such.

#CoalMineCanary

Another #CoalMineCanary moment. It's been so consistent and yet people and the media just ignore it.

So you know how since at least the start of they year I've been tagging things with #CoalMineCanary?

This is why.

If there's no mass outrage to stop them, it will be all ICE detainees soon.

"Olympics Move to Ban Trans Women and Cis Female Athletes With Male Levels of Testosterone"

Another #CoalMineCanary moment. Now they're going after cis women who are too masculine. Only white, willowy, demure women need apply.

At some point people might realize this is just enforcing patriarchy.

Texas AG Paxton: transgender people cannot change the sex on their driver’s licenses and birth certificates, and that any court orders doing so are “void.”

Republicans are ignoring court orders when it comes to trans people. We're already well within the "constitutional crisis".

#CoalMineCanary

Again, journalists and political pundits who worry about whether the Musk-Trump Administration will start to violate or ignore court orders at some point should be aware that it is already happening in regards to trans people. But as is often the case, nobody notices.

Just an FYI, they've been pretty open about wanting to get rid of the ADA and Rehabilitation Act of 1973. It's disabled people who have been the canaries on this one, for decades.

Robin Lundstrum (R) filed an amendment to the Arkansas Religious Nondiscrimination Act to greatly expand faith-based civil-rights exceptions. It creates broad religious exemptions to deny services based on religious belief about gender identity.
