I was going to post about this earlier — in the 1950s, “integration” was the same scapegoat for *everything* that DEI has become today. The same scapegoating was deployed even earlier for abolition, and then later for multiculturalism. Different codewords, same racism.

My mother-in-law told us about a scam call she got, shocked that they knew her name and phone number, and it made me realize that the average person doesn't know their name, in connection with your email address, actual address, and phone number are all basically public after a decade of leaks.

Aside: yes, voice and image cloning is a thing. This is why it is now strongly recommended to set up shared-secret safety codewords with your loved ones, especially elders, to verify that someone purporting to be a family member is in fact that person.
to be fair, to mount an impersonation attack that would have someone fooled and swearing on their life is probably on the order of 5 figures of money, which is... probably worth it for a pig butchering at scale operation!
