I'm merely criticizing the fact that the article doesn't even mention it, and it wasn't talking about Gearbox.

According to Randy Pitchford, an animated short called CodeHunters was a major influence on the Borderlands franchise's art style. Ben Hibon, the short's creator, was even in talks to work on some cutscenes for the first game, but that fell through.

It's gutless and irresponsible to not even mention Codehunters. I love GI and I'm glad that it's still around, but this feels like a pat on the back for the brazen (and to anybody that's seen the short film, undeniable) plagiarism of someone else's work.
