The Welsh know all about England's greed to control water. #CofiwchDryweryn
We were quoted in the Sunday Express in response to John Redwood, the architect of privatisation, begging people to 'read the history books' about nationalised water.

There's a more recent history tho'. 40 years of greed and under-investment, fouling our seas and endangering public health. 1/2

"British born". Brown people are born here too.

I'm white. First generation Irish. I vote Plaid Cymru. Matt Goodwin and Nigel Farage can go fuck themselves.

"Water UK said datacentres were already being built in water-stressed areas, with more than three-quarters located in the south and east of England. Millions of people in these regions have been placed under a hosepipe ban by water companies after prolonged extreme heat and lack of rainfall."

Water has always been political in Wales. Westminster still holds powers over our water - which has direct consequences on our communities, from the bills we pay to the decisions about our waterways.

It’s time for Wales to have full control over such valuable resources.

60 mlynedd yn ôl i heddiw - boddwyd Cwm Celyn i gyflenwi dwr i ddinas Lerpwl.
Ni allwn adael i hyn fyth ddigwydd eto yng Nghymru.
60 years ago today - Llyn Celyn was flooded to supply water to the city of Liverpool. We must never let this happen again in Wales.

I recommend this documentary: www.itv.com/watch/vanish... Extraordinary footage and oral testimony about this shameful event, presented intelligently and sensitively. #CofiwchDryweryn
#TeletextArt inspired by last night's 'Vanished Wales' documentary on ITV Wales:
www.itv.com/watch/vanish...

Context: the village and community of Capel Celyn in North Wales was infamously wiped out when the Tryweryn valley was flooded to build a reservoir to provide water for Liverpool in 1965.
