The Government has now launched its formal public consultation on proposals for Local Government reorganisation.

We'd urge all Colcestrians to look at the various proposals and submit their views as part of the Government's Consultation.

Simon Robinson, our Engagement and Outreach Officer, has been captivated by listening to stories from local older residents as part of the Colchester: Then & Now Project. He's been accessing a collection of photos and sharing these images with some of our older Colcestrians.

Colcestrians will recognise this comparison (fittingly enough): the seawall is crumbling along the estuary and has been for years now. Plus Middle Mill weir collapsed & is only just getting fixed....

We are proud Colcestrians (people of Colchester) and had a rainy but fun time at the Colchester United Open Day today. Open in every sense - pretty much access all areas, players and managers around, fun stuff for the kids. Great stuff 👍

#OnThisDay - 16 November 1883, a letter was written to the Essex Standard expressing concern at the state of the roads in #Colchester and, in particular, the quality & choice of materials used.

Well over 100 years later many Colcestrians have similar concerns.

One of the most personalized aspects of a school blazer is the badge—usually sewn onto the breast pocket. It commonly features the school's emblem or motto, adding an extra layer of identity and belonging.

So, do you have fond memories or stories related to your school blazer?

Echolands by Duncan Mackay (who I think used to play left-back for Melchester Rovers)
