It wasn't just general burnout from working on ColdWire for two years that led me to announce retirement from Doom mapping, it was also a kind of emotional burnout from comparing it to works by mapper who are inarguably better than me.

Just thinking of how I talk about ColdWire - what I so confidently claim to be my proudest Doom mapping creation yet - I'm still looking at it through a lens of "How good is it as opposed to what other mappers are producing?" And I'm hurting myself by doing so.
