#Colonization
Belgium colonized the Congo, not the UK.

It's kinda the most famous case of brutal, murderous 20th century colonization.

The fascists can never just take glee in tyranny. They have to feel beloved about it too. It is the supreme arrogance of colonization.

Remember before Christmas that Thanksgiving is a thing…

Don’t celebrate the colonization part though obviously.

This essay, “Decolonize It: Colonization by Russia, Colonization in Russia, and What Happens Next”, is out. I update my pre-war Internal Colonization (2011) in the new and horrible context of Russia’s last imperial war. I briefly respond to my critics, too

Colonization is atrocity enough without having to carve the worst kind of kitsch into the land

Here's the primary reason the "colonization" libel is garbage:

You could hit Antarctica with 100 straight nuclear bombs until it was nothing but nuclear waste, permafrost and ash and it would still be 1000x more habitable than Mars.

Anyone trying to sell Mars colonization isn't actually selling Mars, they're selling rocket stocks and wink-wink white supremacy
Just another reminder that there's almost nothing humans or the Universe could do to the Earth that would make it less habitable than Mars is now ✨

Not quite the same as colonization. If that was the sole definition then the whole of China should be a bright red map of British colonization (1st and 2nd Opium Wars, the Taiping Rebellion, the Boxer Rebellion, etc).

white men want to be evil on purpose, worshipped for it, and still die beloved and in paradise

that's the depravity and stupidity of colonization

All of America’s (indeed, all of Western Society’s) current sins can be traced back to its oldest - Slavery, Conquest, and Colonization.

More of a product of colonization than anything else

Killzone was released 22 years ago today.

"In an era of planetary colonization, the Heighast await orders to initiate a massive blitzkrieg on the outlying ISA colony, Vekta. Amidst the chaos, a squad of soldiers will become heroes."

Colonization is good!

Horribly inaccurate map aside, technically British colonialism didn't start until the early 1600's under King James VI who was Scottish, so really you want to blame Scotland for colonization in America. African colonization didn't happen until the 1800's... so that's on Germany and the Windsors.

The UK is done with its colonization period. And russia isn't.

You want techno? I've got french techno about revolution. Afrorock? Got that too, about gender violence. Indigenous rap? Yup, about land back. Indie folk? Yup, about class consciousness and the working class. British pop about colonization (of mars). And on and on and on, it's so fucking cool

I'm not sure how much people outside the West understand what fencing has done to culture, ecology, and habitat; one of the earliest acts of colonization in the region as Europeans exerted power, control, and the myth of private property.
‘Real fence is bullshit’ - High Country News
Can virtual fencing transform ranching in the region?
