How about some good news ? You may have missed it, but these two women of color just made history. While most of the country was worried about who would control Congress, these two women were kicking down barriers and shattering glass ceilings. First, this summer, Lee, She's a Democrat and the first black woman to be elected to Congress from Pennsylvania, which feels extremely overdue. She ran on a progressive platform that included democracy, disability justice, and environmental justice. Second is Elliott Ramirez. She's also a progressive Democrat and the first Latina to be elected to Congress from the state of Illinois. She ran on Medicare for all. She's the daughter of Guatemalan immigrants. We just got to really dope representatives in Congress. These profoundly intelligent, incapable leaders are blazing a trail, one that I hope many more women will be inspired to walk down, share, believe, inspire blacks, be.
