Shout out to all the inkers, colorists, and letterers who crunched out all-nighters to get books out and never got rewarded with any regular, steady work.

I'm friends with a lot of colorists and the work they do is like SORCERY to me. Like, I color my comic strips, but largely just with flats, and maybe a little cell shading. Pro colorists are practicing witchcraft on a whole other level.

The colorists here really could not keep up with Patrick Spaziante

I designed The Woeful Eye, the celestial entity that you'll see in this week's Conan: Tides of the Tyrant King.

Here's the design sheet the other artists and colorists are probably cursing me over :)

Mark Millar doesn't consider colorists worth paying royalties to, or at least didn't when I colored this.

Remember the Pam Bondi dynamic: for two decades she's had the "well we have to book SOMEBODY, even that idiot Bondi" role in cable news. Now she has stature and professional hair colorists and ad libs written for her.

She's in Pam Bondi heaven and will do or say anything to stay there

Man, shoutout colorists. Love y'all to death and appreciate all the time and work you do. Also anyone who says colorists names on covers don't sell books are tripping too because I see Tamra Bonvillain's name and I'm throwing cash.

Thread about what comic book colorists do
I'm going to do some posts about what a colorists actually does. I see a lot of reviews that praise the beautiful rendering of the line artist & the color choices of the flatters. So I would just like to clear up what a colorist does.

Tatjana Wood has apparently passed away at age 99. Her father was Jewish so during WW2 her parents sent her to the Netherlands, then NY. She studied as a dressmaker, met/married Wallace Wood and began assisting him, then pivoted to becoming one of the best colorists in comics.
