A long, circuitous walk from Seaton seafront to Colyford and back today. Rewards included this lovely Sibe Chiff at Colyton WTW. I never tire of these subtle gems. 😎

Two stunning male Yellow Wagtails in the valley this morning (one pictured below), with 700+ hirundines feeding low. Great to finally see good numbers of Swallows and better numbers of House Martins. Marsh Harrier still present at Colyford Marsh #ukbirding

2 Curlew Sandpipers (adults) still on Black Hole Marsh at dawn, also Bar-tailed Godwit and Common Tern. 4 Wigeon on Colyford Marsh were new arrivals and offshore small numbers of Balearic Shearwaters continue to linger #ukbirding

Passage still underway. Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs filtering through, a female Redstart on Colyford Common and overhead a decent northerly passage of Meadow Pipits (in the low hundreds) plus much smaller numbers of Linnets and a single Red Kite #ukbirding

What a Day! Marsh Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, 2 Little Stints, Water Rail, Osprey north of the tower hide then 15 mins later good scope views of a White-tailed Eagle seen circling north of #BlackHoleMarsh before heading further up the valley towards #Colyford c10.30am.

My first Sandwich Terns of the year this morning, with a group of six arriving from the south then spending several minutes fishing just off Seaton Beach, before flying east. Also nine Cattle Egret on Seaton Marshes and a mix of all three hirundine species over Colyford #ukbirding
