The Reluctant Mentor: A hilarious story of what would happen if a grumpy old wizard had to mentor one last "hero", but got stuck with a bunch of weirdos (and a cigar-eating rodent) instead.

Book #63

A latrine slave ends up carrying the realm on his shoulders, usually while still covered in something unmentionable. Once it found its footing, the humour landed and just kept getting better. A blast of an underdog story.

I like it when book covers scream: "This is a comedic fantasy!"

Example of #comedicfantasy

I also like it when there is archery on the cover, and lots of archery within.

Done with ch 8 edits, so here's another one of my favourite lines, no context. Since it's the first Erevan POV I'm doing this with, I couldn't really pick anything else.

My collection of Christopher Stasheff books: The #Warlock series.

If you are unfamiliar with this funny series it is #sciencefantasy that features a talking robot horse, a warlock who isn't really a warlock, space travellers incognito, and psychic powers in a fantasy setting.

Back with a no context sentence from ch 14! Prepare yourself for the wittiest wit you've ever wit-nessed.

If Hama had been here, he'd surely have come up with some kind of ridiculous nickname for it, like Ratty McRatface or something.

Ch 11 edits done! Here's one of my favourite sentences, no context. Erevan has an unfortunate knack for unintended innuendo 😅

Book #60

Perfect for reading on half a brain. Chaos, banter and zombies, with found family underneath. They'd save each other at any cost, but gleefully watch each other catch a bloody nose first. It asks nothing of you except to enjoy the ride.

This round of edits on ch 10 in the bag, here's one of my favourite sentences (no context). Or technically it's two, but they go together 🫣

'Sup? I'm back with a no context sentence from chapter 15. You ready? No? Well, sucks to be you:

Forgot to do this when I was done with the edits of ch 7 (bc ofc I did), so here we have one of my favourite sentences from said chapter.

Since it was a Nalion-chapter, choosing one with a bunch of hyphend felt appropriate.

I don't have the time to keep up with #wipsnip so I thought I'd make my own by sharing a favorite sentence at a time (no context) from the chapter that I'm editing.

Here's ch 6:

""Rat," mused the first one wisely."

Meme: I don't always make typos. But when I do, I clean glasses with rugs. "My name is Robert, but most people call me Bob or Bobby," said the innkeeper, cleaning a glass pint with a rug dirtier than the pint itself.
