The scans have been rendered in 600dpi, are collected by volume in .cbz format. The .cbz files can be opened with most comic readers, although we recommend ComicRack CE, YAC Reader, or CDisplayEX (although it should be configured to display the first page as a cover).

Tras una semana he encontrado un programa estupendo, aunque para comics. ComicRack ordena las series en base a tres criterios que puedes seleccionar arriba, y hay un plugin (ComicVineScraper) que te permite extraer los metadatos de Comic Vine.

a comicrack az ez volt, pc-s képregényrendszerező és olvasó, csak később készült androidos és ioses olvasóprogi, ami szinkronban volt az adatbázisoddal, áttölthettél képregényt, komplett listákat, jegyezte, melyik képregényben hol tartasz, tudtál egyéni reading ordereket csinálni a crossoknak, stb.

epub is functionally identical, can just rename to cbz for comics.
I wasted time turning the epubs into pdfs, THEN turning into cbzs. The pdf transform may have been lossy.

calibre is so powerful but also so, so very clunky
I actually use it a bunch on windows for ebook and comic management, as well as comicrack to handle stuff like
pdfs

But it's better than uh my previous process which was turn epub into pdf with calibre, then into cbz with comicrack

I currently use a hacked version of ComicRack but you can purchase it. Also use Comic Screen because some types of files are a bit problematic opening in ComicRack. These are Android. Panels is probably the best Apple app but getting cbr/cbz files onto Apple devices requires a Wizard! 😊

Well, if it gains traction people will just use it forever. For example, as a hobby I like to maintain a comic server for my digital comics. Way back when a software called ComicRack defined metadata in ComicInfo.xml. ComicRack eventually died but it's schema lives on as the standard comic metadata.

There is old, abandoned Windows software specifically for scraping metadata and organizing comics using really useful rules and plugins. It requires an external DB to run, and is a BITCH to get working even on Windows

There used to be apps that just did a thing, the only update they needed was to keep working on newer OS. ComicRack was one, best e-comic reader and it just stopped getting updated. Can't things just do a thing well?

Seems like ComicVine have blocked ComicTagger from API access, so until it supports other sources (like ComicGeeks) its DOA for me.
Managed to get ComicRack setup with a scraper, and it allows mass tagging so already better.

ComicTagger isn't letting me scrape metadata via the ComicVine API today, and that's transphobic. One or both of them needs to be cancelled.
