Today is the day the Winter Comiket results are announced!
If I get accepted, I’m planning to draw an 18+ K-ON! yuri manga. If I don’t make it… I’ll apply for Summer Comiket instead!
I really hope I get in!

Seeing all my favorite artists showing their Comiket applications really makes me want to visit Japan again for Comiket, but I don't have any money left after so many big ticket purchases this year.

It's almost like series like this and Library Wars were inspired by worries of real events like the time police raided comiket or the the time Japan seriously considered bowing to international pressure in the mid 00s and creating the concept of "unhealthy publications" that would even hit berserk.

So many artists posting their Comiket doujinshi and Melonbooks still refuses to let me view anything. Let me buy it!

Today I'm going to a VTuber event at a Japanese university. I was interviewed there the other day, and that interview will be published in a research journal on VTubers and sold at the Winter Comiket👍

Tonight I learned they used to sell tentacle doujins of my boss at comiket back in the day, which means there's a nonzero chance that... No......

Showa & Heisei otakus had to deal with and fight off so much defamation and outright censorship, Comiket getting raided by the police, laws against "harmful material" being passed as late as 2010 and now you have current gen otakus acting like whiny babies at BL / Joseimuke stuff
Not a big fan of the Reiwa-era Otaku sphere, improving my Japanese skills really ended up demystifying it for me. The people arguing that it turned into a culture on the side of the system aren't wrong in the slightest. Hey, just like western nerd culture; it's two sides of the same coin

I do! I once read that comiket s not as big as it's used to be because smaller fandoms prefer to organize "only" events amongst themselves nowadays, right 👀 that kind of event?

Touhou and Kancolle still in the top 10 comiket circles for derivative works in 2026 speaks volume to how much modern otaku culture was influenced by it. Heck even my username is from kancolle.

Comiket once again looks near, as it can be seen by artists posting their acceptance messages.
I'll try to buy a few artbooks this time too... Mazemono should come out with more Yuri and Ashima is finally putting out another artbook!
