Because the Commandrons had little lore, it can be assumed that Commander Magna was their Commander because of his name.
He was one of two Commandrons to not have anything resembling a face, although considering what the ones with faces looked like, this might be a blessing.

While scanning old photos of Mom, I found this old photo of some of the Transformers my brother and I had (we'd eventually have more).

imo, his head is kind of evolved version of crash man's helmet

McDonalds kinda dabbled in transforming robots with the Commandrons in 1985; they weren’t Happy Meal toys though. No, you had to ask your parents to plunk down a buck apiece separately. Totally worth it since they were “real toys” with pullback motors and made by Tomy if I’m not mistaken

Commandrons was a 1985 transforming robot toyline made by Tomy and released through McDonald's in the US for 99 cents each. The toys later came out in Canada also through McDonald's, although now under the name Super Alternators. The toys were manufactured in Singapore and Japan.

The last of the Commandrons was Velocitor / Velostella / Shuttlecraft. For whatever reason, this one was given 3 different names while all the others only got 2. This one might have had 2 faces? But it's hard to tell which if any is the real face because they're both so gooby.

Looks great, the Gears Shelf is really cool. I really like the color separation on the bottom shelf, and the Commandrons.

And these were just the ones that managed to get TV shows that year. There were so many transforming robot toys in the 1980s that I couldn't even fit the rest of them into even the new 10-image limit

Thier main ship is like a freighter but Death Star Droid also has her own fighter that she hops in for dogfights (it is law that we can’t go more than three episodes without a dogfight or space battle) but then in season three it’s revealed it was literally this commandrons robot the whole time
