Can’t believe the knives are already out in the stores. The Ides of March gets more commercialized every year.

Liberation Day has become so commercialized.

I happen to think Liberation Day should be spent enjoying tariffs with friends and family.

I like to call it "Commercialized Masculinity" because it's always about selling you something. Usually supplements.

as I tell my Genetics class every year, this breakthrough is based on 70 years of NIH-funded, basic research, commercialized by biotech

Ben Meiselas put it best ( @meiselasb.bsky.social )

He is deploying WMDs - Weapons of Mass Distraction - and corporate commercialized media is eating it up like they always do.

Some serious shade from @slate.com today re Bluesky - but here’s the thing.

This platform doesn’t have an algorithm that tracks you to offer up commercialized slop.

YOU have to do the legwork to find & follow interesting people and subscribe to feeds on topics you want to hear about.

The way fan fiction has been commercialized is so fucking frustrating. Especially when it is only centered around sex as if that’s all these communities have to offer.

Wikipedia is a true miracle of the modern internet.

A top 10 website, not commercialized, politicized, or sloppified. Still making principled decisions.
Wikipedia has been doing some really awesome social media posts. They've been hiring artists & animators to talk about random Wikipedia articles or explain how it works.

They could have just hired influencers, or made text posts. But this feels much more wholesome, more grassroots. I love it

When you tell people what web 1.0 culture was like, before everything was commercialized, they are unable to imagine a life uncorrupted by late capitalism and corporate enshittification

It's okay, you don't have to do engagement tricks and the commercialized shtick here; you can just be a person and post art, it's gonna be okay, it's gonna be alright

I know twitter taught you this & sucked your soul out & art memes became the only way to communicate

it's over now, you can be free

The Internet was fine. Allowing it to be commercialized, that was where it all went wrong.
