Oklahoma City must increase housing stock to combat rising rents and promote affordability for residents.

The Palmdale City Council voted unanimously to award a construction contract to ICON West for renovation of the Chimbole Civic Center, approving a not-to-exceed amount of $30,668,864 and citing local jobs and a community workforce agreement as key benefits.

Seattle Center staff told the council the Memorial Stadium renovation is on track to open for the 2027–28 school year, with an estimated project cost of about $150 million, protections for a landmarked World War II memorial wall and city commitments to construction equity and workforce goals.

Spartanburg County Public Works Director Travis Brown told City Council the county’s new six‑year capital penny program will accelerate resurfacing, corridor reconstruction and safety work; the city is estimated to receive a little over $9.8 million over the life of the penny. County and state grants and a USDOT safety award were also highlighted.

District staff told the ICOC on June 11 that HVAC, solar, restroom modernizations and several modular and modernization projects are complete or underway; staff outlined budgets, warranties and procurement processes, and described a Community Workforce Agreement that will include apprenticeship opportunities.

Council moved multiple community development items forward and heard a staff report on the Love Your Block Year 1 successes; the council also recognized community volunteers for a Kendall Drive beautification project and plans a Route 66‑themed second year.
