Newsom is considering sparing 563 death row prisoners’ lives by commuting their sentences to life without parole. It could be one of his final acts in office.

Why would you close polls at 6pm? Even people with a 9-5 job would have trouble making that after commuting, not to mention the very large percentage of people who work later.
6 PM ET: Polls have closed in the Eastern Time portions of Indiana and Kentucky.

Commuting chaos this morning….there must be a better way to get around places at peak times, surely🤷🏻‍♂️🚴🏼‍♂️💨🤔 Also, must change the time on my cameras⏰

I was commuting and then I ate dinner. I’m allowed to take a break now and then.

I experienced a similar sensation when I stopped commuting with my cargo bike and the kids (they now walk to school).

I recall thinking, “Wow—people seem less kind today.”

I got to thinking, on the way back.

25yr ago a Tuesday would involve commuting from Croydon to central London and back.

Today it involved an increasing knowledge of Assynt, mountains, enough geology to recognize a big spring in limestone country when I stroll through it, caves, Dog for company […]

My mom's 1986 Colt. Radio and cassette player, mostly-working A/C, mainly because it was a floor model. By the time I started learning on it, it had done four years of Southern California commuting, plus CA->KY->CA->TX->MI->CA->MI->KY->MI->CT->OH, plus ~60 weekly 70mi commutes to dance class.

If I hadn’t voted early, I would never been able to maintain the willpower necessary to vote after work, which would entail commuting over an hour, getting off the bus five stops before home, voting, and walking home in the dark

Solved! Let’s lower demand on essentials such as housing, fuel for commuting and heating in winter, and food 🙄

Another blue sky, another great day for ferry commuting!!!

I am praying genuinely that the Amendment 1 (taking away the power of pardon/commuting sentences) does not pass because it is clearly aimed at Andy Beshear and his ability to free wrongfully imprisoned people

Truth.

And before anyone does “why don’t you move to…” we’re here for a job and already commuting to live in a “better” spot and if I move again it’s back to Louisiana.
People move to Plymouth County to never be uncomfortable. They want a three-car garage, a house surrounded by similar houses, but not too close. No sidewalks, infrastructure, or public transport because those things are shared and what if they were shared by people different than you?

Whenever I think “I just don’t have the time” I think back to me being in high school/college working full time, juggling responsibilities at home, commuting over 2 hours by bus each way, extracurriculars, and having a gf/bf & wonder HOW TF DID I DO IT?!

I wake up pre-tired THINKING about work! 😭

Understood. But for me, morning dark makes more sense because I've always had to be up at zero-dark-thirty. And it gets lighter as I drive, so there's that. Let's face it, commuting sucks no matter what.

Yep. Some folks will argue that you could do work while commuting, and while some ppl can, that may also not be possible. Try to work on a packed train or bus where you're standing for the entirety of the journey and being elbowed every time someone is getting in or out...

I'm alive, but I need your help to pay for bills and continue to attend college because commuting to campus and feeding myself is 2x expensive now.

Anyway, a sniper storch open NOW!!!! [Check replies]

I could give a fuck if President Xi knows my commuting habits!!!
I *want* a $30k BYD.

National security? Bullshit concern, because none of you ever got upset about 30 years of Chinese computers and consuner electronics.

CCP gets my data? DGAF, I'd rather Xi have my data then any US CEO, because at least he won't sell it to US data brokers or LLM companies.

Severest most

Hideous hives of our face

With the ssri once too late

We aren’t presentable

In ANY sense

Remotely

Underwear money isn’t rent

Isn’t commuting

Isn’t soaps and civilization signifiers

Clothing

Hair

Whatever

In vain

Half of office days are spent entirely on Zoom or solo work. I remember commuting an hour from Maryland to DC—only to spend the day in virtual meetings. Turns out I was working remotely from the office! (Emanuel & Harrington, NY Fed)
