This is similarly true of your smaller Reform Jewish congregations.
Although they won't compare in musical talent or beauty or wealth, if you go to a queer-affirming mainline church in your area, you can find a little old lady or man who is 0.9-0.98 of Dolly Parton's love for you, no matter how you are.

This is why I keep banging this drum - I'm a Mennonite pastor's kid, I got all my vaccines, we were in diverse urban congregations.
This is horrifying on so many levels AND I wish the article and the commenters on Bluesky understood that Mennonites are not a monolith. This is like saying it's because they're Catholic.
