I held my #congressionalartcompetition reception last night at #dca. Congratulations to Megan Duncan from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School for taking first place with her piece, Tierra de Patagonia. Megan’s artwork will be on display in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

It was great to welcome SF 10th grader Frank Ouyang to DC this week as the winner of this year’s #CongressionalArtCompetition! His incredible piece, The Sound of Freedom, celebrates the power of jazz and our district’s rich musical history, and is now on display in the U.S. Capitol.

Each year, I’m inspired by the creativity of our high school artists in the #CongressionalArtCompetition. Congrats to San Francisco 10th grader Frank Ouyang, for his winning piece “The Sound of Freedom,” inspired by jazz’s legacy in uplifting underrepresented voices- thanks to all who participated!
