The libs yearn for the constitutionalist caretaker junta

Really fucked to have a constitutionalist judiciary (generally) and an anti-constitutionalist constitutional court
June 27, 2025 at 2:45 PM
It really sucks we have constitutionalist majorities in most of the court circuits but an anti-constitutionalist supermajority on the constitutional court
September 26, 2025 at 9:11 PM
i wish there was a constitutionalist majority in just one branch
July 17, 2025 at 8:10 PM
They need to be impeached. Starting with Roberts. Constitutionalist my ass.
December 10, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Straight up not having a good time when there are anti-constitutionalist majorities in the national legislator and high court and an anti-constitutionalist chief executive (and honestly barely a chief executive at all)
August 23, 2025 at 10:07 PM
that we don't have an existing constitutionalist majority in congress really makes this a lot more stressful
April 7, 2025 at 12:29 AM
it really sucks that there isn't a constitutionalist majority on the supreme court, because if there was one, i'd feel a lot better about like... everything
October 5, 2025 at 12:41 AM
as i've said we have an anti-constitutionalist majority in congress, an anti-constitutionalist chief executive, and while the lower courts have a constitutionalist majority our constitutional court does not, and our system is designed so that any two branches can block the third so uh yeah
I think a significant contributing factor here is that Republicans in Congress essentially treat Trump as supreme ruler of the universe. They defer to him completely, totally, and in every way. No congressional majority has ever acted like this before. This attitude starts in Congress.
like, the 2024 election isn't treated as an election of a chief executive, it's treated as a referendum on rule-by-decree, and decree won. that's why basically every institution is rolling over now - they either support rule-by-decree, or are afraid of it, but the view of the election isn't disputed

like not even a *liberal* majority, even a conservative one that was like actually constitutionalist
October 5, 2025 at 12:42 AM
really wish people would stop using "post-constitutionalist" to describe russell vought. the word is criminal. he's planning crimes. he's taking notes on a criminal fucking conspiracy.
January 17, 2025 at 12:07 PM
I'd feel 100x better if we had a solid constitutionalist majority in Congress because good lord what a mess
man, how is this gonna go on for three more weeks let alone three more years

“I’m a Constitutionalist”
July 12, 2025 at 11:27 AM
Please god can we have a 7-2 constitutionalist majority on the court
BREAKING: SCOTUS orders the government not to remove anyone from the United States under Trump’s Alien Enemies Act proclamation who is a part of the potential class in the Northern District of Texas case until further order of the court.

Only Thomas and Alito note their dissent.

"Constitutionalist"

yet another guy that doesn't know what words mean
July 12, 2025 at 10:23 AM
Opinion | I developed my unitary executive theory based on an originalist constitutionalist reading. But the next time we have a Democratic president I may have to rethink this theory.

That working constitutionalist majority is further dependent on either a constitutionalist electorate, or an electorate whose desires correlate with constitutionalist candidates (to say nothing of the media environment that either does or doesn’t make this possible).
I'm pretty confident in America's ability to comeback from this, but it's dependent on more or less a single thing with a further condition: a working constitutionalist majority in both chambers of Congress, and one that can be sustained for more than a single term
I don't think America is autocratic for the straightforward reason that nothing that Trump has done is systematic in any way or has any sort of legal permanence. It's largely all a product of temporary emergency authorities the President possesses, and his EOs largely don't impact the States.

it really sucks how there is a constitutionalist majority in most of the circuits but not on the constitutional court

I tried to check in with Noted Constitutionalist Mike Lee on the other place:

I think the thing that makes him so dastardly is he casts himself as a defender of the constitution and the judiciary but it is HIS COURT ALONE that is the ant-constitutionalist cog in the judiciary
New in PN: The worst chief justice of all time

"American history has no shortage of legendarily bad chief justices and disgraceful decisions. But John Roberts has overseen the wholesale corruption and capture of the Supreme Court, and history should look back on his tenure with revulsion."

Calls himself a "constitutionalist" in bio, doesn't support any of the rights in the Constitution, does support the secret police that are trampling all of them
July 12, 2025 at 4:15 PM
If you treat the First Amendment like it only applies to you, the Second Amendment like it’s a personality, and the Fourteenth like it’s a typo, I don’t want to hear about how you’re a “constitutionalist.”

Also wondering what "c-word" he means, exactly: cuck? conservative? constitutionalist?
May 17, 2024 at 3:30 PM
i'd feel like 200% better about everything if we had a constitutionalist majority in congress because that is probably the most important backstop to Cool Zone Events™
Nebraska, Iowa, Alaska, Kansas, and Texas are all in play. And Brown absolutely has a shot in Ohio, he's a meaningful overperformer.
