Hundreds came to meeting w/ Denver city council members, city & state staff tonight in Elyria-Swansea about the CoreSite data center here.

More than a moratorium, they want the center dismantled and a city-wide ban.

The company didn’t show.

yeah i mean i'm also simplifying here. but re. anti-corruption i think it's probably a generous read to say "coresite is probably looking the other way about corruption and benefitting in some areas they're building facilities"

The CoreSite facility will be just yards from a senior living center, an affordable housing complex and a health clinic, all of which led to a reckoning about how data centers are reviewed in Colorado and shaped discussions among state legislators about how to regulate the fast-growing industry.
This data center could use 11 times the power of the closest major airport, yet a city spokesperson claims it doesn't even warrant a neighborhood meeting for residents to give their input. Make it make sense!

#Denver residents are being asked to conserve water during drought conditions. So why are water-intensive #datacenters still being approved?

Despite community opposition, the #CoreSite data center in Elyria-Swansea is moving forward.

Demand accountability from Denver City Council.
