"Elected coroners" has to be one of the dumbest ideas we've ever come up with

No ,I'm sorry, the country where you elect county *coroners* and *judges* is a democracy, this one's on you
people are aware that america isn't even really a democracy, right?

its a republic. we "elect" a handful of representatives, and those rich, corrupt individuals make all of our decisions for us

we don't vote on anything meaningful, only what they allow us to. that's not a democratic government.

B.C. has gotta lead Canada when it comes to ex-coroners in politics
Oh, wow: The BC Greens are putting up former chief coroner Lisa Lapointe as their candidate in Saanich South, which means she will be up against NDP candidate and former legislative reporter Richard Zussman, and Conservative candidate Cathie Ounsted

The Idaho coroners' association president said his focus right now is on “low-hanging fruit” rather than major systemic fixes. A few of the coroners his association represents, though, say it's time for an overhaul of Idaho's frontier-era system. www.propublica.org/article/idah...

Having covered coronial inquests, it is exceedingly rare that coroners will go this far and commit this to print.
The findings are getting buried by coverage of the mushroom case, but the findings of the Kumanjayi Walker coronial inquest shouldn’t be ignored.

Saw someone on Insta claim that they wish “RFK’s coroner” would release their own report on Gene Hackman’s cause of death, because they don’t like “mainstream coroners’ reports.”
