Everest Cortland had left baseball and was working as a toilet seat repairman in South Dakota. The Rays signed him to a minor league deal, and he’s pitched to a 0.67 ERA with a 6.42 SO/BB ratio

Cortland, crisp for 6-7 weeks Sept-Oct.

Just started eating Maia Gold: tart, dense & crisp, hoping I can eat it into winter.

My first attempt at college was at State University of New York College at Cortland, just a stone's throw from Cornell in Ithaca. At the time, SUNY Cortland was celebrating being named one of the top 20 party schools in the country. LOL

Meanwhile apparently some in Chicago want to revoke the landmark status of a bridge so that it is safe for cars to use again.

We're looking for any picnic benches or seating you may no longer need. They'll be temporarily relocated to the Cortland Bridge. We can pick them up from you, and we'll give them a fresh coat of paint. Any lead is appreciated.
We're hosting a concert with local bands from 3-7p on The People’s Bridge™ (Cortland) in support of the permanent pedestrianization and continuation of bicycle access. The concert is free. Tipping the bands is strongly encouraged.

📍 Cortland Bridge (1420 W Cortland)
⏰ Sunday, October 18th, 3-7p

They should absolutely keep this as it is and build a new modern bridge at armitage. Keep the cars off Cortland!

CDOT says the historic Cortland Bridge is no longer strong enough to carry motorized traffic. Meanwhile, the car-free span is paradise for folks on foot, bike, and e-scooter. What if we pedestrianized it and built a new car/truck bridge next to it? 🤔

Advocates Incorporated talent show, new promotions agency, blank template, and Access CNY talent show. JM Murray is a similar NGO in Cortland, and they could have theirs at the theatre downtown. Even Harvey Goldsmith had to start somewhere. It's time to become the new Harvey Goldsmith of CNY, then.

Big day over here, I've got therapy a little while and then I'm turning the Cortland apples we managed to find into a big pan of apple crisp!
October 7, 2026 at 4:22 PM
My favorites are Cortland then Winesaps and Macintosh, older more apple forward vs sugary varieties, but any apple from an orchard is absolutely perfect right now. That crisp snap! Two of us have eaten our way through a peck we purchased at a VA orchard early last week.

You'll see these banners at the October 17 Vote Early Rally at Courthouse Park in Cortland, and they'll be on display this Thursday, Oct 8 at 9 a.m. at the Clinton Street extension bridge between McDonald's and Wendy's. And if you want to bring your own banners or signs, that would be even better!

I trust Matthew Cortland, and they are not worried about the Russian plague hitting the US. So I'm not either.

There's a state of emergency in my state about measles, which I am worried about. (I'm up on my vaccinations, but my immune system is actively being suppressed by medication.)
