Speaking of buildings and history, here's Van Cortlandt PLANTATION, now known as Van Cortlandt FARM. Built in 1748 in what's now The Bronx, the property had almost 20 enslaved people in bondage. (These are Martin Scorcese's DAUGHTER's ancestors on her mama's side):
