It's also low-key very ugly to do so when Bennett skipped the counterdemonstration in support of Emmanuel Congregation and has never publicly defended Leni or the congregation after both received racist and antisemitic harassment.

There's a horrendous "stop sexualizing our children" demonstration outside my work building today (I need not say more), but I was so heartened to see a counterdemonstration with Pride and trans flags showing up to combat the bigotry. Those who showed up in the name of love and tolerance are heroes.

The extremist Björn Höcke who is running for parliament in the state of Thuringia tried to hold a speech in the city of #Jena today. The peaceful counterdemonstration successfully prevented that for several hours until the Nazis went home.
