NEW: Denver’s Auditor says he will not countersign Mayor Johnston’s unilateral contract with Flock that bypassed City Council approval. The Mayor says he doesn’t need the Auditor’s approval. 9NEWS has reported Denver is looking to replace Flock with another company anyway.

It's not worth fretting about the distant possibility too much, but I do think a plausible scenario in case of a conviction is Vance says ok fine I'll just countersign everything and tell everyone on "my" authority to keep following his orders. At which point you should remove him too, but who knows

My parents are old enough that they're vulnerable to a scammer impersonating me with ChatGPT so I told them the countersign is to ask what I think of the Russian Federation and if they don't get an extremely detailed tirade they can disregard
