Major sewing is done, turning my attention to accessories this weekend. Throwback to upcycling a top hat for my friend’s #DrFacilier #Disneybound #Crafting #CraftSaturday
Side-by-side comparison of an illustrated Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog wearing a tall black top hat with a skull-and-crossbones emblem and a handmade version inspired by it. The handmade hat features a sculpted white skull and crossbones, red velvet band, and purple feather. Work-in-progress black top hat held in one hand, with a sculpted skull and crossbones attached to the front before painting. The skull and bones are a warm beige color. Hand holding the sculpted skull-and-crossbones piece after painting it distressed white with dark shading. A black headband, purple shell-shaped accessories, and a bright green apple prop are visible on the craft table behind it. Finished handmade black top hat displayed on a whitewashed wood surface, featuring a distressed white skull and crossbones, deep red velvet band, and curved purple feather.
