I decided that my time off is going to be my 'Crafty-cation' (crafty vacation) 😬✨🖌️🧶📓🖍️✏️🖇️🪩✂️🧷💚 #CraftyCation

I started today with a visit to the art supply store with my best friend 🥳 #CraftyCation

Today I already spent time on the sewing machine. I finished an alteration and started another piece.
I have (sewing) plans and fabric for two hoodies, and maybe one or two short dress-thingies, as well as some smaller alterations.

It's entirely too hot to exist right now 🫠
I tried to crochet a bit and worked on sewing project for a few minutes at a time. I had to patchwork together some fabric into bigger panels, but I'm still waiting for some more basic fabric to really start sewing.

I even did some sewing in the afternoon 😬 I have the top of the dress basically done and today I want to finish the skirt panels, maybe even start attaching them.

Today I’m finally doing the thing I couldn’t cause of the heat - dying some clothes of the stove 🔥

I’m starting with dark green and I plan on dying at least a knit poncho (already dyed the cotton parts), a hat (only the synthetic seams), and maybe 2 shirts (also the seams) #CraftyCation

I also want to dye some clothes but I have walk all the way to the washing machine to do that 😭
But it is in the basement where it might be cooler 🫠 #CraftyCation

I didn’t finish my project today, it’s just too warm and that makes me slow 🥵 But I’ll continue tomorrow and I really have to remind myself to take pictures, especially of the finished items 🫣

I once again don't have enough fabric 😭

Like for real - what is going on?! I just wanted to finish those two hoodies and now I'm stuck waiting for more fabric to arrive 😓

I'm still frustrated that I apparently miscalculated both of my hoodies fabric 😓 I decided to order some more of the grey fabric for the pinecone hoodie and another meter of the very expensive galaxy fabric 😭 I hope that will be enough to finish them.

And I hope the grey fabric will arrive this week so I can finish at least one hoodie. The galaxy fabric is from a lovely small business, so it's perfectly understandable if the shipping takes longer. I'm also waiting for some cotton fabric to arrive so I can work on another project 🤯 #CraftyCation

Today is the last day of my #CraftyCation (no, I'm not ready to go back to the real world 😭) and so I did as many things as I could to really make the most of it.

Among other things I made one of those mesh-document-pouch-notebook-cover-thingies 🙃

That's my new dress worn 💚🦇🖤✨💜🦌🩶🐍

(despite the temperatures I had to do some layering, luckily the mesh top is very airy)

So that's officially the first finished piece of the #CraftyCation project. I'll do my best to take more pictures and finish some more stuff before my time-off ends.

Update: The basement was delightfully cool and I put on the washing cycle with the dye in it. I hope I have enough time to put on the next cycle before I have to leave for my dentist appointment (only the annual cleaning and check-up, luckily 🫠)
