The 'crex-crex-crex-crex' of this singing male Corncrake was the late evening soundtrack from our house for most of the summer. The first one we've heard on the patch since 2014.

J'ai eu le plaisir de parrainer ce mini piaf, car je suis censée travailler sur son article Wikipédia ^^; Il s'agit donc du Râle des genêts (Crex crex), un cousin des foulques et des poules d'eau. Il est connu dans le folklore européen pour son cri particulier, typique de la campagne

Näin ensimmäisen kerran elämässä! Se on taas rääkinyt päivin öin ihan talon lähellä, nyt löysin kun oli valoisalla. Oli hiljaa paikoillaan kunnes olin metrin päässä. En tiennyt missä se on, menin kohti paikkaa josta ääni oli kuulunut.
