Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive, degenerative brain disease caused by cumulative, repetitive hits to the head over time. CTE is profoundly common in American football. Exposing minors to CTE is abusive and unethical.
I wish the people actually cared about the safety of children playing sports because I don't think children can consent to playing tackle football and it should be illegal to have it in public schools.

Smith, who played for the 49ers, Raiders, and Cowboys, was found unresponsive in a car, then declared dead. He had numerous concussions during his career. His family is sending his brain to Boston U to examine it for CTE.

As the son of a 10-yr NFL defensive tackle/end who earned four Super Bowl rings and was both an NFL and a D1 defensive line coach for 12 years before he died at 49 (my age now), I can most assuredly, indubitably tell you that CTE is very real.
Cam Skattebo says CTE isn't real: "It's an excuse"
Skattebo also says asthma is "fake."
