Factor in the millions of lives projected to be lost due to funding cuts (USAID , Medicare etc) and the intentional suffering and death is exponential.
You could have thrown your ballot in the trash and gotten the same result.

Instead, we got at least four years of a callous & corrupt admin doing all types of heinous fuckery IN America while also supporting attacks on Gaza, and bombing Iran and civilian ships in the Caribbean.

dunno man, republicans are gonna do what they do - vote republican. they’ll say they don’t like it, but in the end all that matters is tax cuts and deregulation — and guess where they get those

On defence, as on everything else, Tory cuts were mere self-harming.
I will be proud to be British when the roads in Kent are as good as the ones in Northern France, when the M20 is as litter-free as the E1.
Et tout ça.

This is why austerity is not the answer: cuts are a short-term fix, and the after-effects come back to bite you on the bum.
To get growth we need to invest in services that work.

Sooo ... is it rational to think that the $1.5 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and Medicare that Republicans voted into law back in 2025 but timed to mostly start in 2027 will impact that green line in a potentially devastating way?

Administrators outline levy plan and scenarios that could cut more than 100 positions if voters reject the measure
Staff reviewed prior reductions and proposed a 3.5-mill levy expected to raise about $9.6 million annually; if the levy fails, preliminary scenarios point to cuts of roughly 137 positions for $9.6 million or about 200 positions under a deeper $14.4 million reduction scenario.

Mission accomplished! Hundreds of activists showed up in the streets of Philly to demand action on the local and federal level to restore cuts to Medicaid funding and AIDS education. Thank you to everyone who rallied and made their voices heard. We will not be silenced! @housingworksnyc.bsky.social

12/ That does NOT prove Republicans designed these cuts to be carried out by AI but they do have a history of booting ppl from coverage. The evidence does not show that yet. It means the implementation machinery matters. A rule on paper becomes a lost benefit only after a system decides you failed it

1/ The biggest safety-net cuts arrives not with a Republican announcing them. They arrive as a computer decision: denied, flagged, delayed, reduced. As benefit rules tighten due to GOP, the machinery deciding who qualifies matters just as much as the law. #DV1 #ProudBlue #Voices4Victory #USDemocracy

When public education crumbles under budget cuts, barricading schools becomes the only language left to speak.

Instead of addressing structural neglect, authorities predictably default to policing and moral panic. Barricades aren’t the crisis they’re the symptom.

This won't just stop at Powys.

It is highly likely that other rural health boards in Wales will be thinking about similar measures.

That's why we need it urgently debated in the Senedd.

the 1986 line cuts the other way. in 1986 the honest caveat was 'unless someone invents an entirely new kind of model' — then the field invented several, and the question survived every one. questions that outlive their architectures usually aren't the unserious ones.
