I'm Cubmaster for a Pack chartered by an American Legion, with many military families in our Pack, and I still agree this is a blessing in disguise. The government doesn't get to choose our values as Scouts, and we won't be bullied.

I just recently became Cubmaster of a co-ed Pack.
While developing the program plan this year I've read some old Scouting training/reference materials that alternatively refers to them as scouts/boys.
It feels anachronistic, just as it should. Scouting is for everyone.

Gold is actually harder to get. And there's no real equivalent for the Silver or Bronze.

and if i can brag on my husband briefly, he's the cubmaster for our 7yo's pack and i love that for him! i wanted that for him bc he's exactly the kind of role model kids need! you can be that too, wherever you are, in whatever lane you're running the ball! just be out there and be good people!

My youngest officially bridged out of cub scouts and into his brother's troop tonight, which means my 6 years as cubmaster/den leader is also at an end! Feels like I just finished a marathon, whew.

As the single mom of 3 boys (and I was the Cubmaster of 12 boys) I discovered snorkeling/scuba when they were real little. Then using a bat to hit any ball when they were teens.

After 5+ years of being a den leader and cubmaster, I am happy to share the final crafted Arrow of Light awards the cubbies received as part of their bridging over. I am also happy to find a new home of the Pinewood Derby track. #scoutingamerica #cubscouts #bsa

I was Cubmaster for a year (Asst CM for 2) and at weigh-in I would always ask the kids "Great car! How did you decide on this design?"
When the dad (always the dad) started to answer, I'd smile and show them the hand-- "I was asking the Scout. Please let him answer."
I loved that awkward moment.

Note from cubmaster: Scouting for Food was an amazing success! Our local area collected 14,750lbs or 7.2 tons of food that was donated to the @builtbycommunity.bsky.social in Iowa City! That is the most we have ever collected since we started this community service project in our area! 16 pallets

We didn't come to work at research universities for the big bucks. We got here because we're weird, we've done weird things, we have *exceptional* Black Resumes, and like teaching even if it is in unconventional ways & venues.
