An Eastern tailed-blue takes up much of the photograph. The background is blurred green plants. The butterfly is facing right. Its wings are closed. They are mostly a light grey with multiple black spots and a couple of orange spots near the back end of the lower wing. Just past that is a tail (actually two white tails, one from each wing). The head and antennae are both alternating black and white.
