The US proved econ assets equal natl security when they weaponized security exceptions against Canadian steel. Since CUSMA 32.2 is explicitly 'self-judging' ('which it considers necessary'), Canada has the sole legal right to define our energy grid as a security asset.

Free trade deals don't give Canada the power to protect its infrastructure from an economic attack—our sovereignty does. But CUSMA Art 32.2 & GATT Art XXI act as a total legal shield. They untie Canada's hands so we can hit back without breaking international law.
