And yes, it's a theft machine trained on people's work. I only keep up with Gen AI like this because I focus on Cyberlaw and this is my area of law.

Short of these companies losing massive copyright lawsuits and being forced into bankruptcy, I don't know what will stop it.

I've known EFF executive director Cindy Cohn for 27 years. I met her when I needed cyberlaw advice for a startup I'd helped found. We got along so well that I quit the startup and went to work at EFF. Now, Cindy's memoir, *Privacy's Defender*, is on the shelves:

Today my team, JDs Not LLMs, got first place at @eff.org Cyberlaw Trivia **and** I got an obscure Learned League trivia question correct due to my Well-Rounded Liberal Arts Education(TM). And that’s all I have to say about today.

The DOGE kiddies who were doing this stuff clearly didn't know that cyberlaw is a mature field if they thought using ChatGPT to do things would magically absolve anyone of any legal responsibility.

Huge shoutout to the Harvard Cyberlaw Clinic lawyers & students for amazing & dedicated & educational & principled pro bono representation

One attorney I approached asked for $10k to take the case with no guarantee I’d get it back if attorney fees were awarded.
My attorneys settled for $36k in fees from the Department of Energy for a pretty basic lawsuit decided by motion for summary judgment.

Department of Energy was doing illegal Freedom of Information Act fee harassment & we all knew it…

…& it took 3 years $36k in tax dollars plus DoEs costs.
How is it that the folks who use litigation strategically to chill people’s participation in public discord never have the faintest idea of how much litigation costs?

I’d like to give a huge hand to my attorney, Harvard Law School Cyberlaw Clinic instructor Mason Kortz, who—along with his students—did tremendous work fighting for transparency in my case.
