Thomas Biedermann from the Australian National University's School of Cybernetics presented his game CyberNations! CyberNations is a board game providing insights on systems thinking and futures thinking for students, game groups, and professional teams.

For the heck of it, I reactivated my old CyberNations account that's been dormant for a solid 7+ years. Mistakes were made.

Jesus I was really trying to figure out how I was following a cybernations history account until I figured out your new bit. I thought it was added to some starter pack.

It’s a good bit; best of luck to you

SoL from NPO. I just decided to go search on Bluesky to see who was talking about CyberNations and saw this, and decided quoting the most epic post ever would be funny.

I honestly feel like the little governments we were setting up in CyberNations had better thought out charters/constitutions/rights of redress/etc than most actual modern political bodies.

Sounds like I should look into cybernations. I just logged back into my state:

www.nationstates.net/nation=nicko...

For choices I made when I was 19, this is pretty ok outside of the "well-funded police force." Gotta love that 71%+ tax rate and outstanding education system funded by basketweaving

Politics and war, it’s the game I misremembered cybernations for. A decade after this game one of the old goons leaders sent a mass invite to everyone whose email was still listed on our forum names like “hey come play this terrible game instead” lmao

Mención especial para:
Los juegos de @argenpaz.bsky.social . Sobre todo el de las focas.

También para jueguitos que eran divertidos pero hace una banda que no juego:
🌎 CyberNations
🌏BLOC: juego de simulación geopolítica discontinuado.

🏢⛓️ Varios juegos sobre cárceles.

In 2005, Danny Wallace & co. released the 6 part docu series "How to start your own country"

The conclusion was pretty clear: when climate change starts to sink countries like Tuvalu islands, the UN might start recognizing cybernations.

@saustrup I used to play online political roleplaying games - specifically something called #cybernations - and we had so much fun on IRC.

Everyone organized themselves in alliances and used IRC for daily comms. Haven't used it since, probably, 2006.

Browser text based social games (which do still exist but are not the like cutting edge fun they once were). My IRL friends and I had an alliance in CyberNations with a well-functioning government drafted up by us. I played a similar one but set in space.

Fun, social, not slopified.
as we grieve the slop-ification of Google, I want to know everyone's favorite fun niche sites from Back When The Internet Was Good. what did you visit every day on your coffee break at work? we were a big Homestar Runner household, and I also loved Cake Wrecks and Animals Talking In All Caps

Cybernations forums, or the civfanatic forums. As a CHILD I took over a small alliance in CN, merged it with another alliance, won an election to lead that alliance for a bit, then got distracted lol

My time in civfanatics was almost exclusively the NES forum, which is a different story altogether.
Okay, let's get nostalgic

What was the VERY FIRST online platform that you became addicted to posting on?????
