Yeah, but before the whole AGI thing, I don't know a single person who was so instrumental in the evolution of early PC hardware. It was Quake that killed Cyrix. Not to mention spawning a whole craze of Doom-likes in the nineties. Doom RPG. Orcs & Elves.

Hehe the computer I went into after the Cyrix ended up being a k6-iii and I got hold of an Nvidia card before He force became a thing. Think that Riva 128 is still in the PC box I stand on to change light bulbs.

Trying to think what I had back then. I think it was the Cyrix MX166 based machine with hardware antialiasing fuzzies courtesy of a Trident 2d card daisychained through a Voodoo 2 and a Creative Labs dvd decoder card.
Graphics have definitely changed a bit since then.

Ja, lite udda. Jag har ingen annan Cyrix-CPU heller. Men jag har inte kommit till att ordna mina CPU:er i någon sorts museum, de bara ligger i någon låda, och några hundra för en bit udda CPU-historia då? Nja. Jag ångrar mig lite, men mest inte.

Wrapping up the Compaq. Really interesting machine. Cyrix Media GX was ahead of its time in many ways. 486-derived with built in graphics and SB16. SoC if you will. And this Compaq is now in lovely condition. 😍
