While I enjoyed the characters in DA:Origins, I really found the gameplay to be such a slog that I disliked the game for awhile. 😅

Some new studio needs to ditch the modern timeline (it’s so stupid now) and do something set in a previous Blight that captures the same essence as DA:Origins.
And just, forget linking it to the previous games. Start fresh. But have recurring characters like in ME.

Ahh, understandable. I play keyboard and mouse. I can't do controller unless the game is better spec'ed for it, or I find it to be really uncomfortable (e.g., RDR2 is way better using controller IMHO). My DA favs list?

Been awhile since I returned to DA:Origins. Getting the itch a little after finishing my second DAV run, but as soon as I sit down I have to look at the mods, making them work and play nice together, dealing with old resolutions, SO MANY GAMEPLAY BUGS that lead to unintuitive character decisions >_<

I like Dragon Age Veilguard, but as a game unto itself. It's not a DA game. DA:Origins is in my top 3 games of all time. DA2 and DA Inquisition, also great games. Thedas felt real, gritty, sometimes hopeless. Veilguard is a too colorful, optimistic, Disney-fied. #dragonage

I don't have a good end to this aside from saying thank you to everyone who put words to paper to create Thedas, who gave characters life over four games and many years. Thank you for bringing many of us together, and for giving us a beautiful world to live in since DA:Origins.

Dragon Age was meant, at least partially, as a sort of 'back to roots' for Bioware, except it's more similar to Neverwinter Nights than BG1/2, but we'll let it slide
Then Larian gets to do BG3 and does it in a way as if it was DA:Origins 2. It's like poetry, it rhymes

I absolutely love DA:origins.
But yes it's another one of those.
It's also obscenely hard. Knock down the difficulty all the way and don't feel bad about it.

DA:Origins has a fantastic storyline that branches off into so many directions. One even made me bawl. My eyes out.

I loved Mass Effect and DA:Origins. Never played any of the games afterwards because I deeply disagreed with the direction they took away from the crpg genre.
