They laid off most of Bioware's already diminishing staff after DA:VG.
I guess I just feel like people are in a sense also able to be taken as cynically as they take the petitioners.

Well it wasn't just that
DA:VG sold HALF of projections, and the projections weren't that crazy
Anthem lost like, at least $100mil
They've been losing *alot* of money for *a long time*

Ooof Bioware shutdown...
I hope another studio can come pick up DA and ME 🙏 (considering too the latter has/had a new game in production 😭)
Note: No DA:VG slander here. It wasn't perfect, I too had some issues with some of the writing, but I still enjoyed my time with it

Today:
1) Puppysitting for my sister, which means I've said "Don't lick the keyboard," before 8 AM.
2) The horrible suspicion that "elderly" necromancer in DA:VG will turn out to be like 53.

I am almost entirely with you on this ranking! Mine has DAO and DA:VG swapped, because I have a very soft spot for Ferelden and its hero, but it is a genuinely difficult choice here.

Wanna let everyone here know that DA:VG is making me choose between so many wonderful characters to romance. I'm in the bottleneck and I gotta choose one soon 😭

Actually concerned that legitimate criticism of DA:VG is going to get drowned out by all the "DEI" weirdos.....

Every time I sit down to play DA:VG I intend to continue the main story but explore and side quest for hours instead 🥲
Anyone else start a game to unwind, but now you’re 5 hours in, on a mission you didn’t plan for, questioning all your life choices? #GamerLife #SendHelp

I'm especially fond of the trans options in BG3 and DA:VG. I think CP2077 had it too, but idr because I've still only played the trial.

The worst one for me personally was Dead Space 3. It just didn't feel like a horror game anymore. I haven't played DA:VG yet, but I want to because I really liked Inquisition. The general thing I hate the most though is the forced online stuff they try to put into single player games unnecessarily.

I don’t think I’ve ever actively enjoyed the combat part of an RPG before DA:VG.
It’s not just an obstacle to the story in this one

A fun thing about having a night job. When something terrible & existentially dread inducing happens you can drown your sorrows & sleep the next day away.
Which is to say why am I awake right now body!?
I'ma try to get more sleep, but here is my Rook in DA:VG as a nice distraction. Share yours?

Done with Veilguard.
It had the up and downs but honestly I loved this dragon age. Beautiful, glorious, elegy for BioWares fantasy series.
In ten years they will call it a lost classic.
My DA game rankings thus far:
DA2
DA:VG
DAO
DAI

Anyways if you’re just finding me here; I play BG3, Legend of Zelda, I’m waiting until Xmas to get into DA:VG; I used to play WoW, and I’m into a lot of other weird console games and such.
Also into Marvel MCU niche pairings, Star Wars & Star Trek and in my free time I know too much about science

Yup - DAI was a massive hit, just because DA:VG isn't doesn't equate failure.

DA:O was such a beloved thunderbolt that it's been tough for any of the sequels to measure up. DA:O>>DA:I>DA2>DA:VG.

I love the way each new Dragon Age game overcompensates for the weakness of the prior entry. DA2 overcorrected on Origins' weak combat. DA:I WAY overcompensated for DA2's lack of environmental variation. And DA:VG has pivoted hard toward a linear opening section to compensate DA:I's starting area.

happy nerd, really enjoying da:vg ;v; i dont feel close to finish it yet but it has to go down so far for me not to call this one my favorite da, it's being incredible being so invested in the lore that the big revelations just make so much sense or are things i expected, cant wait for more

Excellent piece on some of the armour designs in DA:VG.
My favourite out of the pieces not mentioned is the one which comes with a chin rest.
Poor DA:VG, an imperfect game but given the utter incompetence of EA, much better than it could have been.

This week on the blog, we retain our commitment to only hammering the iron when it is ice cold, by taking a look at some of the odd armor design choices - and their better historical options - of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which according to EA, no one played.
