Mainly E standard and open D (slide) for electrics. D standard, open D, DADGAD, and occasionally open G and double drop D on my acoustic.

Day 401 of my cover challenge:

(1986) Pete Townsend covered the original by the Beat (1982). It's one of Townsend's favorites. As he mentions in the video it has a unique tuning (I looked it up: DADAAD. instead of DADGAD - I'll leave it to you guitarists. #MusicSky

Amen 💕. Davey Graham is the guitarist who propagated DADGAD tuning (now widely used) and he could stretch out on this tune, as in this later Sixties live folk club recording: youtu.be/a9XkWbKBs80?...

Yes, I’ve obviously heard of drop d and DADGAD, but regardless, he just strums right through and doesn’t touch the neck and the “chord” doesn’t change. It’s just used for rhythm.

Yup. Easy in DADGAD, though!

DADGAD meditation. i feel like this tuning is finally starting to click for me. especially with how many options for minor 2nds and unison there are across the strings. that dissonance feels like home to me
