Here's the best paper that I could find. The Angelica species of North America are in the Archangelica clade or the Eurasian Angelica clade.
Except for Angelica dawsonii. It's just very different.

Angelica dawsonii is a strange one. Yellow, not white flowers.

After a little digging in the journals, it looks like it's more related to Lomatium brandegeei and Podistera yukonensis.
It kinda strayed from the Angelica genes.
